| TRICHOGRAMMA The Enemy of 200 Varieties of Moth and Worm Pests This tiny creature has a wingspan of 1/50th of an inch and attacks over 200 varieties of moth and butterfly eggs that hatch out to become worm pests such as cabbageworm, tomato hornworm, corn earworm, codling moth, squash borer, peach borer, cutworm, corn borer, armyworm, bagworm, loopers, alfalfa caterpillar etc. General release rates for low to medium infestations: 3000 trichogrammas (1 square) per 3000 sq ft released weekly, or every other week, for 3 to 6 consecutive weeks. If worms are present, consider using lacewings in combination with the trichogramma releases. Trichogramma pretiosum are used for field crops. Trichogramma minutum are used for orchard crops. |
